Chris Oxtoby is married to Jane and has two children, Kylan, 10 and Sam, 5.
He is 44 and joined Driffield YFC at the age of 11. He held lots of club offices,
then progressed to County
chairman in 1989/90 so he has a really good idea what its all about! Having been appointed
relatively recently, he is just in the process of meeting members old and new
and helping the YFC movement gain better publicity.
Do get in touch with him to find out what we're up to, and how you can join in.

John is an enthusiastic supporter of Young Farmers, having been involved with the movement for 40 years,
originally joining Skirlaugh YFC at the age of 13.
He held many positions in the Club, was a Club Leader for 13 years (3 of which whilst still a member!),
and was elected as Skirlaugh Club President in 1991, a position he still currently holds. Being asked to
be County President was a surprise, but a role he accepted with relish, and considers it a huge honour
and privilege.
John's wife Jill was also a Young Farmer (like many other couples, Young Farmers was where they met) and both of their children, Sarah and Robert, were keen members of YFC before leaving to go to University. John works in IT for a pan-European manufacturing company.
John firmly believes that the YFC movement is THE best organisation for young people to belong to
because it offers so many opportunities and benefits to the members. He says it is a fantastic organisation,
made up of a great bunch of members; it has a wealth of goodwill and support, it plays a valuable role
within the community and it is absolutely vital that it continues to do so. His aim is to work with members
and to help in whatever way he can to ensure that the Federation and its members flourish and prosper in
the years to come.

Liz is 29 years old and was elected as County Chairman in March 2008. She first joined Thorngumbald YFC at the age of 13, left the club when she was 20 and joined again at the age of 25. taking on the role of Chairman of her Club, along with being elected County Vice Chairman in 2006.
Liz works as a Business Development Manager for a Hull-based mortgage company. She likes the opportunity to meet new people and has gained the confidence to do this through public speaking at Young Farmers. She has gained many friends through Young Farmers and is looking forward to meeting more members of the County by attending club meetings on a regular basis.
Liz says she has gained many useful tips on the role of County Chairman from her predecessors Sam
Buckton and Bruce West and is looking forward to seeing the County move onwards and upwards in all
areas during her year of office. Liz clearly believes in the old saying that you only get out what
you put in and now feels that it is her turn to put her skills back into the Federation.
