Yorkshire farmer Stuart Bell was elected chairman of the National Federation of Young Farmers'
Clubs yesterday at the organisation's council meeting at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
Stuart, 32, farms in partnership with his parents at Church Farm, West Lutton. He lives
in Driffield and is a part-time development worker for the Wakefield West Primary Care
Trust's Teenage Pregnancy Department. read more...
Stuart first became involved with Young Farmers' Clubs (YFCs) when he joined Muston YFC at the age of 15. After holding a series of posts at club and county level, Stuart became involved with the national federation where he was chairman of the Personal Development Steering Group from 2002 to 2004, and national vice-chairman from 2003 to 2005.
Stuart will be supported by his senior vice-chairman Catherine Cross and junior vice-chairman Dan Halliday. Catherine, 27, is a Lancashire lass and member of Clitheroe YFC, but now lives in West Marton near Skipton where she is a herdsman for SR Shuttleworth. Dan, 26, is a member of Abingdon Senior YFC in Oxfordshire. He lives in East Hanney near Wantage and works as an area sales manager for New Holland dealers Oakes Brothers Ltd.
